On Monday, April 16th, our after-school science club members enthusiastically participated in their first ever competition and fun STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) project. Our young scientists attempted to create the tallest structure out of marshmallows and pretzel sticks. These help develop kids’ engineering skills, creativity, problem-solving skills, and enhance their critical thinking. In addition, during the construction of their structure, our young scientists worked on the STEAM concepts of design, building, shape, and structure in a fun and hands-on way. It’s an open-ended process that allows them to build and rebuild designs while problem-solving and develop higher level critical thinking.
